Quality Management

Through a Proactive Management style, Sle-Co reviews potential concerns, opportunities for improvement, and cost savings opportunities, identified early in the product development process. In addition, the lean management structure at Sle-Co Manufacturing operates within a total quality management program, allowing us to be very reactive to our customers’ needs.

We are continuously planning for long-term and short-term goals, encouraging innovation and taking calculated risks as part of our management approach. Our goal is proactive success, ensuring the business is running smoothly at all times.

Quality and Environment

Currently Sle-Co Manufacturing has achieved TS-16949 and ISO14001 Registrations. Sle-Co will continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality and Environmental Management system. This is accomplished through our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, team involvement and employee development. Management objectives and targets are established and reviewed during ongoing reviews of the management system.

Sle-Co Manufacturing, being a good corporate citizen, is dedicated to the protection of the environment, the health and safety of its employees, customers and our neighbors. Sle-Co is committed to complying with customer, legal and other requirements, the preservation of the environment, the reduction of waste and pollutants, the recycling of materials and the conservation of resources. This dedication drives us beyond just meeting environmental standards and pushes us towards incorporating good practices into our daily business decisions. This stance continuously improves our environment and the world around us.

Our management system is a continual cycle of planning, implementing, reviewing and the improving of our processes and actions to meet our obligations. It serves as a means to ensure that the activities and products provided by Sle-Co Manufacturing conform to all requirements.

Our Management System

Our APQP process facilitates communication between Sle-Co and the Customer to clarify requirements that translate into more detailed specifications:

  • ISO_icon2
Product design activities communicating special characteristics to the process design activity, prior to design release, linking the DFMEA to PFMEA.
  • ISO_icon2
Plan, acquire and install appropriate process equipment and tooling based on design tolerances provided by the customer – CPPD (Collaborative Product Process Design).
  • ISO_icon2
Assembly personnel communicating suggestions on better ways to assemble a product prior to the completion of the design of the product – DFA/M (Design for Assembly and Manufacturing).
  • ISO_icon2
Manufacturing or Process Engineering establishing adequate Quality Controls for features of a product or parameters of a process, which still risk potential failure – Control Plan Methodology.
  • ISO_icon2
Performing Stability and Capability studies on special characteristics to understand the variation present and predict future performance – SPC (Statistical Process Control and Process Capability).
  • ISO_icon2
5S – How Sle-Co organizes our workspace for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the layout. The decision-making process is the dialogue about standardization, which builds understanding among employees of how they should do the work.

Our first requirement of APQP is to ensure Quality through the use of work practices, tools, and analytical techniques. Our second requirement is to develop Quality controls if discovered risks have not been adequately mitigated. All activities within the Sle-Co APQP process occur prior to the start of manufacturing or process start-up.
